The start

The start of the challenge was immediatly pretty brutal. I played 3.3k hands in the first sessions and I only won 3 pots bigger than 100bb (so net +50bb at least).

I lost almost 8 buyins during that session while my EV was at about -2 buyins. But I just kept grinding, which is a good thing. I knew I wasn’t making many mistakes and was playing good so I just kept going. Normally when I run bad I just quit my session very early (even after 200 hands or so). Things started to get better in my second and third session. My EV is positive again (+48€) and I’m starting to get almost back to even in euro won. Because of this variance I also decided to mass table NL20 and start to play less tables from NL50 on. I think my hourly will be bigger by 8-10 tabling the NL20 games instead of 5-6 tabling them, it will hurt my winrate, but the extra hands and rakeback will make up for that I’m pretty sure.

Update1

Yesterday I also went running for the first time, damn I knew I was out of shape but I didn’t know it was that bad! I thought I would be able to start at Week 4 or 5 in my training program I use for my Ipod but after 5 minutes I realized I should start at Lesson 1. I need to go get some other earplugs as standard Ipod earplugs keep falling out of my ears and my Shure noise-cancelling earplugs aren’t really safe to go running with in streets where there are cars passing me…

Tonight I’m gonna put in a little session (1k hands or so). Tomorrow I got an exam in the morning (ugh Management) and plan to go running in the afternoon immediatly after my exam. It’s been raining pretty bad once 2-3 in the afternoon so I hope I wont be soaking wet. I hope to get 15k hands done by monday which shouldn’t be a problem.

Goodluck at the tables!
